Position
Summary:
The Engineering Manager oversees and coordinates the people, resources, and processes required to deliver new software or upgrade existing products.
They achieve all or most of their goals through delegation to their team, while still being highly technical.
The Engineering Manager coaches and mentors their direct reports in a way that results in high growth, and have a high amount of influence on their team as well as within their broader organisation.
They provide direct leadership in delivering critical or at-risk projects, command a high degree of trust and remove obstacles so that their team can attain optimal performance.
This position is based in Brisbane, QLD.
Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
Strategically grow, manage, and develop a team highly skilled team of Software Engineers (includes hiring, mentoring, developing, giving performance reviews, giving feedback at weekly 1:
1 meetings, etc.
) Successfully lead projects to completion Influence the team and broader organisation by providing technical advice during the planning of complex solutions Document solutions so that information can be easily disseminated to the Engineering team Contribute to projects and software releases Coordinates and manages on-call rotations About You:
Strong proven understanding of software development, software management and software engineering principles Strong leadership experience, managing up to 8 software developers Passionate about technology and an ability to keep up to date with the latest trends and practices Ability to build strong identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals Ability to develop people to meet both their career goals and the organisation's goals Ability to paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action Ability to know the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement Ability to see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies Why join Pax8?Well here are a few points of how we value our greatest assets:
